Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Nestled in the great province of Alberta, sits the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). NAITâ??s mission is to provide specialized technical education and training to their students. Established in 1962, the institution has grown from humble beginnings with an enrolment of just 5 students into a major institute of technology.

Currently, NAIT has experienced faculty of over 1,900 passionate professionals from a variety of disciplines. They are dedicated to enhancing student learning and inspiring student innovation in developing their technical knowledge and skills. On average, NAIT has over 27,000 students enrolled. Of those, approximately 24,000 are undergraduate students, while the remainder are graduate students.

NAIT prides itself in being one of the most affordable universities in Alberta with graduates enjoying the benefits of some of the lowest student loan debt. NAIT offers diplomas, certificates, industry and future studies - all in an effort to continuously equip their students with the latest technical knowledge, so they can increase their employability in various industries.

NAIT has an array of technical disciplines that range from its flagship applied research and engineering technologies to business, industry, health, and trades and technology. All of their programs are delivered in state-of-the-art learning facilities and labs and also offer several apprenticeship programs. NAIT also offers several field practicumâ??s each year. Completely hands-on and experiential learning opportunities are available such as international study tours.

NAIT provides students with access to modern technology and valuable industry partnerships in award-winning student learning spaces. This gives them experience in real-world environments and helps to ensure their job-readiness when they enter into the workforce. Examples of these include an advanced automotive lab, a power engineering plant, even a student run radio station and restaurant.

A unique feature of NAIT is their continuous commitment to the community and industry. The school offers various resume building initiatives that give students the chance to network and take advantage of a variety of industry internships. Numerous courses and programs are delivered outside of the classroom enabling students to apply their learned skills in a variety of settings.
